McBreakfast

Do you ever wonder if you are feeding your kids too much fast food? Lately with Richard working overtime and Bradley playing baseball we have been eating out more than usual. It always remind me of a story my mom told me about when I was younger (The following is probably not an accurate re-telling, but it does the job).

When I was between 5-7 years old, we were driving home after a softball game (sound familiar), when my mom said we were going to McDonald's (again). I had a fit because I didn't want any more Happy Meals. I wanted "real food. "

Not your typical kid reaction right? Well that story sticks with me and I am worried one of my kids are going to follow suit. Especially when it is so fast, convenient and sometimes cheaper than making a full blown meal.

However today I got a little reassurance that I haven't totally over exposed my children to the fast food world.

My mom had Bradley and his cousins Jacob and Trace for a boys sleepover night. She decided to take them out to breakfast. When they pulled into McDonald's parking lot Bradley said "McDonald's has breakfast?" and Jacob and Trace look at Bradley like DUH!

So I guess if we feed them breakfast at home everyday we are at least starting the day out right. We will just have to keep trying for those healthier alternatives to McDonald's.
